General Racing

1)                  Drivers, pit crews, and spectators entering the pits MUST be familiar with all of the rules, instructions, and regulations of this rule book at all times.

2)                  To enter the pit area at anytime of the event, you must purchase a wrist band from K3 Karting. If an individual chooses not to obey this rule, you will be asked to leave the pit area.

3)                  For insurance purposes, all individuals entering the grounds of K3 Karting race track must sign all insurance related documents for that event. Individuals must sign all insurance papers each new day entering the track.  He/she that fails to sign all insurance will be removed from the area.

4)                  Minors under 18 years old are required to have a release form filled out by the parents and a birth certificate must be with you incase asked for proof of age. Age for minors will be based off their age as of January 1st. A minor release form must be signed and on file.

5)                  All individuals entering the grounds of K3 Karting race track will conduct their selves is an orderly manner. Violence or abuse of any kind will be subject to immediate ejection from the K3 Karting race track and the local law enforcement will be called.

6)                  Verbal abuse, threats, or profanity at any individual will have consequences up to ejection from the site of K3 karting race track.

7)                  Any individual entering the grounds of K3 Karting race track will not be under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substances during the event. If this happens, the individual will be asked to leave the grounds of the event. If this happens twice, the individual will be asked not to come back for 2 weeks of racing. If this happens more then twice, the individual will be asked to not come back to the grounds for the rest of the K3 Karting racing season.

8)                  All drivers racing the day of the event must attend the MANDATORY drivers meeting.

9)                  Any violations of rules due to pit crew or family members may subject the driver to disqualification.



Fees

1)                  To receive points for the season, the driver must be a member. A membership fee is $50.00 per year, per household and a household consisted of up to 3 family members. To receive a trophy at the end of the season, the driver must have at least raced 7 races.

2)         Event Fee

            Members                     $20.00 per class

            Non-Members             $30.00 per class

            Pit Pass                        $10.00

            (Unless Posted Otherwise)

3)                  If paying for event with a check and it does not clear the bank, the individual will be responsible for all bank fees and a $30.00 return fee. Plus no other checks will be accepted for the rest of the season.



Miscellaneous Rules

1)                  Protest inspections can be asked to be done at any time of the day of the event but the protest must be done within 15 minutes after the race is over. Protest forms will be at the pit booth or the individual can get the form from the race director. If he/she that are being protested fail to allow their kart to be inspected, the individual will lose their points and awards for that event.

2)                  All karts after each race will weigh in and if the driver chooses not to weigh in or does not make the weight requirement, they will be automatically disqualified and will not receive points, money, or trophy. All weights must be painted white with the individual kart number written clearly on the weight. Losing weights out on the track will automatically disqualify the driver.

3)                  Top 3 must go directly to tech after the feature. During tech, no kart will be allowed to leave until all 3 karts have completed tech. There will only be 2 people allowed per kart in the tech area.

4)                  Fueling of karts will only be allowed in the pits. When fueling karts, the driver must be out of the kart.

5)                  Fire extinguisher must be present with your trailer or truck at all times of the event.

6)                  Driving in the pits will not be permitted. Karts must be shut off at the scales. ATVs, golf karts, or any other gas or electric vehicle will not be permitted unless used by somebody that is handicapped or an official.

7)                  If every class has completed practice and their first heat, the event will be considered a full event in case of a rain cancellation and NO REFUND will be giving. If practice and 1st heat wasn’t completed before the rain cancellation, all individual that were in the pit will receive free admission in the pits to the next event with proof of last events wrist band. Rain Dates could be scheduled on off weeks. All fees are not refundable under any circumstances.



Safety Rules

1)                  Safety equipment is #1 to K3 Karting and mandatory.

2)                  Snell 00 or higher, full face racing helmet

3)                  Collar type neck brace designed for motor sports is mandatory.

4)                  Full fire suit for all Jr. Champs.

5)                  Vest protectors are highly recommended



Engine Specifications

1)                  Engines will follow WKA and IKF rules. Must be declared in tech.

2)         New Motor Tear Down Rule – If a person wishes to protest any driver’s motor, the cost will be $150.  Automatically $25 of the $150 will go to the tech man for tearing the motor down.  If the motor is legal, the driver will receive the rest of the money left, $125.  If the motor is illegal, the protester will receive the $125 back.  And the driver will be DQ that night.  If driver is found to be illegal more than once, the punishment will be up to the officials.



Points and Points Rules

1)                  Points will be based off the way you finished in every heat and feature, and will be combined throughout the year.

2)                   A driver will receive points for a DNF based on actual finishing of the conclusion of the race.

3)                  Points will be based off the way you finished in every heat and feature, and will be combined throughout the year. The driver with the most points at the end of the year, after drops, will be the champion. If 2 drivers are tie for a position, the driver with the most feature wins will get the higher position.

4)                  A driver will be allowed only 1 drop for the season. The drop can not be a DNF.

Flags

Checker flag:     The race is finished.

White Flag:       One more lap to go.

Green Flag:       Start of the race.

Yellow Flag:     Caution on track and slow down.

Red Flag:          Come to a stop on track.

Black Flag:       Exit the track because of mechanical problems or rough driving.

Black Flag:       Warning of getting disqualified because of unsportsmanlike conduct.

    (Rolled)

Traffic Flag:      Faster kart is getting ready to lap you. (Blue with orange strip)
